Healthy Relationships & Your Teen

Description

The ultimate goal of preventing domestic violence is to stop it before it begins. In a single year, nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner. Teens between the ages of 16 and 19 are 3.5 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault. A healthy relationship requires honest communication, trust, safety, and respect and equality. But do our children know what a healthy relationship really is? In this presentation, Rena Lee from A Safe Place will talk about how you can help your child develop healthy relationships as well as discuss how you can provide life-saving support if they are in an abusive relationship.
