Kiwanis Brings Pond Hockey to Lake Bluff’s 125th As the New Year has just begun, so have the festivities to celebrate Lake Bluff’s 125 anniversary. The Kiwanis Club of Lake Bluff & Lake Forest will be the first to host an event for this year-long celebration. A 3-on-3 Pond Hockey Tournament will be held on Super Bowl Saturday, February 1st at Artesian Park, Lake Bluff. The ice-skating rink will be transformed into 3 smaller hockey rinks allowing 3 games to be played simultaneously. The day’s festivities start at 8:30, first puck drops at 9 o’clock sharp!! The National Anthem will be sung by Terry-Ann Saurmann, an artist who has sung several times for the Chicago Cubs. Kiwanis expects 12 teams to play until 5ish for what hopes to be an annual event. So, mark your calendars, dress warmly, grab a chair, bring some friends and a fire-pit (wood will be provided) while you cheer on the players. Kiwanis will also provide a free lunch to all, hamburgers and hotdogs from 11am to 1pm. Hot chocolate served throughout the day. The net proceeds for the event will be used to provide Outdoor Musical Playground Equipment at Mawman Park which will be installed this spring.
