Lake Forest Civic Orchestra Presents ...

Description

Join us for an exciting start to the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra’s 2018-2019 season with All the World’s a Stage. Featuring dramatic works by Wagner, Mozart and Bizet, this concert proudly introduces the LFCO’s new co-music director Christopher Ramaekers, who shares the four-concert season with returning Maestro Robert Nordling. Come indulge with us in some of the greatest classical stage works ever written, including Wagner’s Rienzi overture, Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 2, and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy, on Sunday, October 14 at 4 pm at the John & Nancy Hughes Theater at Lake Forest’s Gorton Community Center. The concert will feature mezzo-soprano Rachel Wood. To buy tickets online, please click here www.lakeforestcivicorchestra.org. As Co-Music Directors, Ramaekers and Nordling will share conducting duties for LFCO, each bringing their own styles of musical selections and conducting. “I am elated to work with the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra again, this time as Co-Music Director, and also happy to be sharing conducting responsibilities with Robert Nordling,” said Ramaekers. “It is not often that the conductor gets a stand partner and after working together to plan out the current season, I feel confident that there is a promising future ahead for the LFCO!” Dr. Ramaekers is currently Director of Orchestras at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Associate Conductor of the Chicago Composers Orchestra. He was winner of the 2011 American Prize in Orchestral Conducting and holds degrees from Western Michigan University and Northwestern University. The LFCO is thrilled to have him aboard.
